Easter Baby

Meet Boston Lake Farm's newest little lamb:
Esyllt
White Pine Arvada
Black Katmoget
x
Little Red Oak January
Moorit Katmoget

She is all I hoped for from this pairing:
improved fleece,
tiny tail,
good conformation,
and a eweling!
not to mention my favorite pattern, katmoget

January had her all cleaned off, up standing, and eating by the time we found her at 6 am this morning. I'm so grateful for the Shetland mothering instincts.
fyi: January is not a mutant buck-toothed Easter Bunny sheep. She has some hay on her lip. :)

  1. She's beautiful! I'm so jealous, I've been home for the past four days, with no lambs! I swear they must be waiting for me to go back to work. Congratulations!

  4. Hi Tifany,
January waited until I gave up and went to bed at 4:53am. I swear the lamb was born as I walked away from the gate! :)

The name is easier to say than it looks, Michelle. :)
("E" like "egg") + ("syllt" like "seelt") emphasis on the "syllt"
    It means "beautiful"

Thank you for telling us January didn't have buck teeth-- I wondered!

  7. Esyllt is the Welsh form of Isolde. And it is probably really pronounced much more quickly, less drawn out like I say it. I tend to say things very "Scandinavian"
    :)
