North Side-Completed!

Here it is...the north side of the house with all of it's siding. Woohoo!
We worked in the light rain yesterday to finish the last bit of siding and repair the fascia.
The scaffolding was too high for our ladders so Clancy had to crawl in and out of the bedroom window. He reminded me of when we were actually building the house...we used to tromp in and out of any window hole on the second floor. There was also a huge pile of sawdust inside where the boards got cut.
It seems like a snail's pace to get the siding finished. But we've come so far. To get a better perspective it does help to look back at where we were last year at this time.
Onward to the South Gable Peak!

Oh wow -- you guys BUILT that house?!? It looks like a wonderful old farmhouse, the kind of structure I just love. Not many build a new house in that style; I love it! Is this all documented in previous posts? Do I need to "start at the beginning" someday when I have time?

Thanks Kim. I'm glad you are back! When are you going to post a souvenier (sp?) photo for us on your blog? :)

Michelle,
Yes, we did build the house from the ground up. We tore down an exact copy that was to be demolished in the nearby town of Bemidji. We salvaged all the goodies from that house and others and have built largely out of pocket. A week or so back I put the main description of that process in one of the comments sections. Can't remember which post, but it was recent.

As always, thanks for reading my blog when you have time. :)
