This evening I created a little brown mate for the male junco from yesterday. It may not be clear in the photo, but the brown lines are actually thin wisps of moorit yarn.
I used a completely different photograph to guide me...it had more detail...which I think I tried too hard to represent. I think the tail was more accurate on the male.
Oh, well. I'm having so much fun. :)

I have got to learn how to needle felt. I think you did a great job on both birds.
Thank you, Kelly. Needle felting is super easy. I've never had much ability with 3 dimensional art (like working with clay or even patterns for clothing). But this felting is very forgiving, especially on a round solid object like a songbird. (or sheep!) And the needles cost just a few dollars. So it is affordable to get in to.

I agree, needlefelting is a very affordable past time, so is wet felting. And lots of fun too. I love your pair of juncos Sabrina! Keep up the good work! A lot of times for me the fiber takes on a life of it's own and I'll set out to make one thing but it beomces something else during the course of the needling. Enjoy!
